SOS Acne: How To Get Rid Of Pimple Marks?

The marks of pimples on the face are not exactly an exciting topic, so almost nobody in the beauty world talks about them. Already suffering from acne can be considered a punishment, but the problem persists even later – when red and brown spots remain on the skin or real scars.

Impossible to resist the urge to make them explode… yet this practice undermines the health of the epidermis and does nothing but make it even more impure. These unsightly acne marks are not easy to eliminate, but we at Stylight decided to try them. Here are 6 great tips on how to get rid of those awful pimple marks once and for all!

Ad Hoc Creams

As a regular and daily cure for pimple marks, you should use specific creams to eliminate acne spots or discolor the skin. You can also use a conventional scar cream (like Bepanthenol). The usage? Every day, morning and evening. It can take a few weeks or even months for improvement to occur. Our dispassionate advice? Try the zinc ointment against pimples (you can find it at the pharmacy). Apply it with a cotton swab in the evening and let it do the dirty work at night.

Lemon

With lemon juice, thanks to the acid it contains, it is possible to relieve accumulations of melanin and thus make the red marks of crushed pimples on the face clearer. To do this, dab the spots several times a day with the juice of fresh lemon and rinse after about 10-20 minutes. If you have sensitive skin, leave the juice on for half the time. The acid acts like a natural bleach, but it only bleaches the outermost layer of skin—the scars won’t disappear completely, but they’ll be less visible.

Apple Cider Vinegar (Inside And Out)

Apple cider vinegar is effective against pimple marks and can be used externally and internally. Mix equal parts apple cider vinegar and water as a facial toner for external use and dip a cotton swab into the solution. This natural tonic improves your complexion, helping to stabilize the ph: your skin becomes clearer and more opaque, and the spots will disappear in the long run. Mix two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water and add honey to taste as a drink for internal use. This blend activates the metabolism and self-healing process of the skin.

Peels

Peeling is the best way to make your skin fresher. Removes old dead cells and stimulates new and regenerated ones. Any examples? The salt and lemon peeling. Lemon has an anti-inflammatory effect. Coarse salt instead acts on scars and promotes blood circulation. A natural combination that counteracts impure skin and improves spots.

Mix them both, spread the crumbly paste over cleansed skin, and rub downwards. Rinse off after ten minutes or when the lemon juice dries, then apply a moisturizer. Another example: peeling based on fruit acids. This chemical peel significantly reduces the marks of pinched pimples on your face. Beauticians and dermatologists perform the treatment by applying specific acids: the skin is completely renewed and uniform.

Surgery

If acne scars are a serious problem for you and you hate seeing them on your face, surgery is the only solution. Dermatologists use different methods to tackle pimple marks. The tissue is surgically removed and restructured through biopsies or excisions with very fine threads, leaving tiny and barely visible scars (nothing like the previous ones).

If, on the other hand, mechanical dermabrasion is performed, the skin is removed with a special tool – a sort of cutter – under local anesthesia. Microdermabrasion, on the other hand, uses crystals or rotating diamond discs. But you can also get lasered in case of evident scarring: the tissue is destroyed, the skin is reformed, and it appears more uniform. These different methods are offered by dermatologists and private clinics, but make sure you have at least two, preferably three, medical opinions before surgery.

Beware Of The Sun

It’s always best to avoid direct exposure to the sun, to prevent pimple marks from becoming more apparent. Indeed, UV radiation makes red, brown or black spots even more visible. Always apply a high sunscreen and stay in the shade as much as possible. This also reduces the risk of further pigmentation of the spots.
