White Hair: Causes And Natural Remedies

A physiological process that does not mean premature aging. Natural remedies include coffee, black tea, cocoa, sage, and rosemary.

Let’s clear up a misunderstanding immediately: it is false that those who do not have white hair age less. And vice versa. The different organs of the body age in other times and ways, so there are young people with white hair destined to live long and people with hair with a natural color that, however, age quickly.

White Hair

Another fake news concerns the relationship between stress and white hair, which, for some women, keeps their charm intact. A busy life is certainly not good for the scalp, but it cannot be the cause of hair discoloration, and in the same way, becoming the calmest person in the world does not mean finding yourself with “colored” hair again.

Why Does Hair Come White

The age at which white hair appears is a vital genetic component, but there is, as we have said, no link with the aging of the organism in general. The hair turns white in a very natural process. The hair color is due to a pigment, melanin, which is produced by melanocytes. Over time, we have less and less melanin, and therefore our hair turns white.

The life of a hair lasts from one to three years, and every time one falls out, another grows back. With the decrease in melanin, the new hair is more likely to develop gray first and then white. An acceleration in the growth of white hair can be due to stress, poor diet, smoking, lack of vitamin B, and hereditary factors.

When Does White Hair Begin

The first white hair usually comes around 40, and there is no difference between men and women (other fake news). When the physiological process of the change of hair color towards white arrives between the ages of 20 and 25, we speak of “premature gray hair,” while there are people who, even at 70, have their hair with their natural color.

Grandma’s Remedies For Dying Hair

It is inevitable. White hair sooner or later sprouts at all. It is called ” gray hair ” and is a phenomenon that depends on a decrease in melatonin present in the hair. Hair color depends on the action of melanocytes, the cells that produce melatonin: since the melanocytes found in the capillary bulb decrease with age, white hair progresses accordingly.

How To Cover White Hair With Henna

Henna is a natural powder obtained from the drying process of a plant of North African and Indian origin. Different shades allow you to cover the white hair, and they are all red-brown, which is better than getting advice based on your hair and the result you want to achieve. Henna can be purchased at a herbalist’s shop, pharmacy, or hairdresser’s product store. Choose the shade closest to your natural hair color and mix the powder with boiling water until you get a thick, lump-free cream. To make the color more intense, you can add lemon juice or vinegar to the mixture. The doses of the product to use depend on the length of the hair.

Once the desired consistency has been obtained, it can be applied to damp hair previously washed with a neutral shampoo. It is then necessary to leave the product on for the time indicated on the package and, according to the intensity to be obtained, rinse, and apply a neutral shampoo. Henna does not penetrate the hair but wraps it in a protective film, restoring a color that remains on the hair for 6-8 weeks. If your hair shade is darker, henna can be applied in the same way after being mixed with indigo. This is another plant powder that, unlike henna, can dye your hair black, returning mahogany or purple shades based on its natural color.
