Whether performing an oral check-up or carrying out a scaling, going to the dentist at least once a year, ideally every six months, is highly recommended. Select a sugar-free chewing gum: information to check carefully among the product components. If possible, xylitol-based chewing gum is preferred. It is a natural sweetener that aids in the elimination of bacteria that cause cavities.
In general, the chewing movement involved in the consumption of chewing gum stimulates the salivation necessary to eliminate the remaining food and then strengthens the teeth by reducing the level of oral acidity.
Choose Mineral-Based Foods
What are the two essential minerals to strengthen your teeth? Calcium and phosphorus. Good news, many foods that contain it are accessible… and tasty. Unsurprisingly, calcium is found mainly in dairy products (of animal and vegetable origin), certain fish such as sardines, trout or anchovies, and shrimp or mussels.
On the land side, green leafy vegetables, beans, garlic and nettle are also high in calcium. Almonds, wholemeal bread and seeds such as sesame also allow you to benefit from this mineral which mainly helps to strengthen the enamel of your teeth. Favour Foods With Vitamins A, C, D, K
Each of these vitamins contributes in its way to strengthening teeth, focusing on their composition, action or protection:
- Vitamin A helps make keratin, which is necessary to form tooth enamel. This vitamin must therefore be sufficiently consumed for this purpose: carrots, melon, sweet potato and orange vegetables, in general, contain enough.
- Known for its energy supply, vitamin C also helps strengthen teeth. Citrus fruits, peppers or even kale are particularly recommended to benefit from it.
