Whether as a scrub, tincture, wrap, or facial tonic: apple cider vinegar can be adapted to every need of body care. The areas of application of the natural product are just as different. It is said to help with psoriasis, skin fungus, acne, and dull hair.
Against Pimples And Acne
When the sebum glands on the face are clogged, they create a perfect breeding ground for bacteria and germs. Initially, only small blackheads, pimples, and acne develop from inflammatory reactions. Apple cider vinegar is said to unclog pores of sebum, reducing its production while killing the bacteria that cause it. In addition, the natural product is said to have a regulating effect on your pH value. For treatment, you must put apple cider vinegar on a cotton pad and spread it on the individual pimples. However, this method is only for less sensitive and oily skin. Otherwise, the acids contained in the vinegar could have a drying effect and irritate the skin. If this is the case for you, you should always dilute the apple cider vinegar with warm water before applying it to the affected area.
Even unsightly and sometimes painful wars can quickly disappear with the help of vinegar treatment. The warts are dried out by the acids and fall off. To treat it, rub the affected area with apple cider vinegar twice daily. An alternative would be to put the vinegar on a cotton pad and stick it on the wart with a band-aid. This should then be replaced once a day in the morning and evening. However, this treatment can also dry out the surrounding skin, which could cause rashes if used too long. It is, therefore, always better to speak to your doctor beforehand.
The skin can quickly react to rashes, bites, or sunburn with severe itching. Applied thinly to the affected area, apple cider vinegar can have a calming and pain-relieving effect. It also disinfects the area that may have been scratched and helps with wound healing.
Against Sweat Odors
Especially in summer, heavy sweating can quickly become uncomfortable for those affected. Apple cider vinegar causes the sweat glands to contract and thus reduces sweating. It also has an antibacterial effect against odor-causing bacteria and regulates the pH value of the skin. Therefore, apple cider vinegar works in different ways against strong odor and sweat. To use it, rub your armpits thoroughly in the morning and evening with a washcloth soaked in vinegar. Do not wash the natural product off your skin until the following day.
For The Hair
Apple cider vinegar is good for skin care and can also benefit damaged hair. Vinegar is supposed to care for the scalp in particular. Acetic acid can remove residues from shampoos or conditioners from the hair and close damaged hair cuticles. This layer envelopes each hair and protects it from environmental influences. If these cuticle layers are damaged, the hair is dull and lackluster. Malic acid can close this layer, allowing light to reflect off the hair better, making it shinier and more color-intensive. However, acetic acid also cares in a completely different way. It cleans the scalp’s sebaceous glands from accumulated residues and degreases them. As a result, fewer dandruff forms, and the hair can be better nourished.
To lighten your hair with apple cider vinegar, dilute it 1:1 with water. Then you put the mixture on your hair and let it work for about a quarter of an hour. Then wash your hair thoroughly. Incidentally, you can enhance a brightening effect with a dash of lemon juice. For your hair to lighten noticeably, you need to repeat the treatment at least once a week for a more extended period. For shinier hair and less dandruff, use a lower concentration. About two tablespoons of vinegar are sufficient for one liter of water. Put this mixture on your hair and massage it well into the scalp. As a nice side effect, you also promote blood circulation. Alternatively, you can add some apple cider vinegar to your shampoo. The result is vital if you don’t rinse it out of your hair immediately. At first, your hair may smell unpleasantly like vinegar, but don’t worry – the smell will dissipate in a few minutes.
